Yes, i know you will say this is normal or whatever, but it i do not feel comfortable, so if you’re going to not give me wanted answers, please just leave. I would like to lose about 25-30 pounds because of a week long beach trip i will be taking with my school in 3 1/2 months…

However, In the few months i have, i (as told before ) would like to shed 25-ish pounds and maybe have my tummy resemble this :

Here’s what worked for me:

- Dr. Dean Ornish: “Eat More, Weigh Less”
- Moderate aerobic exercise five times per week for 30-60 minutes.
- Free Weight training per “Body For Life” but ignore the nutrition information which is misleading.

Please note that Gina Kolata did an extensive review of diet programs and she concluded that Atkins, Weight Watchers, and medically supervised calorie restricted diets were all ineffective for the vast majority of people over a period of a year regardless of participant motivation.

What worked for me is a healthy low-fat pure vegetarian diet that is mostly devoid of processed foods and additives. Avoid aspartame (diet soda) and MSG (most fast food) per Dr. Neal Barnard. Remember that you have a choice of putting on a pound of muscle or seven pounds of fat. Most people choose muscle. The equation is 1 pound of muscle is calorie equivalent to 7 pounds of fat.

It takes some effort to eat a healthy balance of vegetables, but you will feel better mentally and physically in less than a week. How you feel on the diet is what keeps you motivated to make this a permanent lifestyle change.

Donald asks…

An ex I haven’t talked with since the Spring just texted me… is he regretting what he did to hurt me so much?

So last year I moved across the country for this guy, only to have him dump me because he “wanted to mess around with other guys longer.” I was about 5 years younger, and blinded by love, choosing a very expensive school in a very expensive city, just to be near him (we met when I was living there for college in 09′)

He was spoiled, had alot of money, and did treat me, but also was extremely controlling and overbearing. He was also super self conscious of his hairline and weight, and ended up getting a 30,000 dollar hair transplant – so he could “get the guys he really wanted.” I was heartbroken and devastated, and through all this he still wanted me around as a “friend.” I absolutely would not disrespect myself during his recovery, so I cut the cord.

I shut him out of my life, and since have moved on. Hes attempted to contact me a few times, but I have ignored them, because I feel not letting him know anything about me at all is the best punishment.

However, he sent me a text (from another number, I blocked him) saying he wished me a happy new year and all the best for 2011, and that he hoped all is well with me. He also sent me an email of a picture he took of me from last January 2010, saying that is it was a great picture of me from a happy time and that I should have a copy.

Whats his problem? This guy hurt me so much, he told me so many horrible things, hurting my self confidence and self image. I knew that he would realize I was special, and that it was a huge loss that I’m not part of his life, but is this his way of doing what?

answers:

There’s a reason why you guys broke up and this guy crewed you over before. You don’t wanna get sucked into that, you don’t wanna be used like a doormat. This is his way of trying to get control over you again. If you really want a good guy who will treat you right then keep ignoring him, change your number if you have to.

answers:

You said yourself he’s controlling. I think it’s a way of manipulating you even after the break up. Like maybe he can test the water and see if you still like him. It’s a game. Obviously, he knows you’re ignoring him. He has some big balls to keep texting you after you blocked him number. I would ignore him unless you want more drama.

He probably does regret dumping you. But only because he realized he still can’t get the guys he really wants even with more hair so he might as well settle for what he had before.
